Kimone Simmons

Kimone Simmons is Assistant Director in the Office of Graduate Student Support & Engagement (OGSSE) within the University of Florida Graduate School.
She is an alumna of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a criminal justice minor, 2010) and Mississippi State University (Master of Science in Counselor Education: Student Affairs in Higher Education, 2013).
She is now working on her Doctor of Education degree at UF.
Employed at UF in 2017, she worked as Coordinator for Living Learning Initiatives in UF Housing and Residence Life before joining the Graduate School team in 2022 as Education and Training Specialist in its Office of Graduate Professional Development (OGPD).
Now, as Assistant Director in its Office of Graduate Student Support & Engagement (OGSSE), her focus is on programming and special events that enhance graduate student retention, academic advancement, and a culture of community rooted in student-centered and student-led approaches.
