Specialist · Office of Graduate Professional Development
Jim Gillespie is Education and Training Specialist in the Office of Graduate Professional Development (OGPD) within the University of Florida Graduate School.
He is an alumnus of the University of Florida (Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy, 2023).
Before his move to the Graduate School, he taught as an instructor in the UF Department of Philosophy and worked with the UF Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere, where he helped to kick-start their Alexander Grass Research Scholars Program.
He now works in our Office of Graduate Professional Development to create, coordinate, and lead programs aimed at putting UF graduate students in optimal positions to set and achieve professional goals, hone virtues for both academic and non-academic success, and develop tools for their transition from student to professional life.
Outside of work, he enjoys baking, trying to educate himself about music, visiting local breweries, and spending as much time as possible with his dog.
