Graduate Education Champion Award
Description
The University of Florida Graduate School’s yearly Graduate Education Champion Award (GECA) — offered through its Office of Graduate Student Support and Engagement (OGSSE) — honors UF faculty or staff who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to enhancing the UF graduate student experience and shaping the trajectory of graduate education at UF.
Nominations for this award come from current UF graduate students.

Eligibility & Requirements
To be eligible for nomination for this award, you must...
- ...be a full-time UF faculty or staff member.
- ...be nominated by a current UF graduate student.

- Commitment to excellence: Creating an outstanding teaching and learning environment for UF graduate students through demonstrated innovation and continuous pursuit of superlative achievement.
- Promotion of positive interactions: Fostering a collaborative and supportive community by building bridges between graduate students, faculty, and staff.
- Dedication to cross-cultural understanding: Advocating for egalitarian practices to ensure a sense of value and empowerment for all graduate students.
- Efforts to enhance harmony amid differences: Consistently acting to remove obstacles and promote an environment conducive to optimal performance for every graduate student.
