GradCARE: Here to Help

GradCARE is a free service of the University of Florida Graduate School devoted to promoting Grad Gator well-being both individually and institutionally — especially when life gets difficult for members of our student body.

For Students

GradCARE — in partnership with UF’s Campus Assistance and Resources for Empowerment (CARE) — offers graduate students free help when challenges involving academics, physical or mental health, food or housing insecurity, or medical leave arise.

GradCARE Assistant Director Christopher Walker plies expertise and empathy as a non-clinical case manager to match you with help that aligns with your situation, then follows up to make sure you’ve found a solution.

You can meet with him in person, over the telephone, or via Zoom. You can meet with him in person, over the telephone, or via Zoom. He’s available in Peabody Hall on Mondays and Tuesdays, and in Grinter Hall (Graduate School home base) Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. To book time with him, click this link: CARE Case Management Self-Referral.

For Faculty and Staff

GradCARE — in partnership with the UF Counseling & Wellness Center and the UF Dean of Students Office — also offers free training presentations to UF colleges, schools, and departments to help them recognize and aid graduate students in need of assistance and support.

If your academic unit would like to set up such a session on your own home turf with our campus wellness professionals, click here. Have questions? Email us at grad-success@ufl.edu.
