The University of Florida Graduate School wrapped up the 2024-2025 academic year with a bumper crop of doctoral graduations — 818 in total (11 Doctors of Audiology, 37 Doctors of Education, six Doctors of Musical Arts, 762 Doctors of Philosophy, and two Doctors of Plant Medicine).
Spring 2025 commencement alone featured 2,772 Grad Gators receiving their advanced education sheepskins at that semester’s end: 270 doctoral degrees, 2,486 master’s degrees, and 16 specialist degrees.
This year’s graduate graduating class also included ten Board of Education fellows, four Fulbright international students, five McKnight Fellows, four National Institutes of Health fellows, and four National Science Foundation fellows — a testament to the caliber of students that graduate education at UF attracts.
UF is home to 107 doctoral degree programs, 185 master’s degree programs, and 14 specialist degree programs. Ranked in the Top 5% worldwide among over 2,800 universities (Times Higher Education 2025), it is a powerhouse of graduate education, classed R1 — the highest level of research activity in American higher education — by the American Council on Education and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. UF degree holders are so sought in the job marketplace, Forbes business magazine placed UF in its 2024 national Top 10 producers of highly employable graduates.
