Need help as a University of Florida graduate student? Don’t know where to turn for solutions to problems like academic issues and concerns, physical or mental health challenges, food or housing insecurity, or need for a medical withdrawal or leave of absence?
GradCare — a free service of the UF Graduate School within its Graduate Student Success Center (GSSC) — can help. It cuts through the maze of many well-known and lesser-known resources and services available at UF to pinpoint which sources of help best fit your particular predicament or needs.
GradCare Assistant Director Christopher Walker plies his personal wellness expertise and empathy as a non-clinical case manager to understand your situation, match you with campus or local help that aligns with it, and then follow up afterwards to check in and see how your problem has been solved or your needs have been met. He works in tandem with UF’s CARE (Campus Assistance and Resources for Empowerment) initiative.
You can meet with him in person, over the telephone, or via Zoom. He’s available in Peabody Hall on Mondays and Tuesdays, and in Grinter Hall (home base of the Graduate School) Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. To book time with him, click this link: CARE Case Management Self-Referral. Once he receives your online referral, he’ll reach out to you to set up an initial meeting.
GradCare is all about breaking down barriers to reach solutions. So there’s no need to “go it alone” as a UF graduate student — GradCare is here to help you!
