The Graduate School at the University of Florida raised $5,063 for this year’s UF Campaign for Charities (UFCC), which ran September 5 through October 13, 2023.
This year, 40% of the Graduate School’s workforce (compared to 11% on average campus-wide) donated to this annual event, which is UF’s official charity fundraising drive fueled by the generosity of its employees. The Graduate School’s 2023 UFCC contribution increased by almost 8% over last year’s total.
The UFCC supports nearly 100 non-for-profit agencies serving the common good of people, animals, and Mother Nature in Gainesville and North Central Florida. Contributions go towards a wide array of local causes chosen by donors — from the arts and athletics to education and environmentalism to health care and other basic human needs, like food and shelter.
The annual UFCC drive empowers UF employees to make a positive difference in the community where they live, work, and play by providing a consistent source of critical funding for social service nonprofits that work to better the quality of life right in their own backyard.
