Tom Kelleher, Ph.D.

Dr. Tom Kelleher is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Florida Graduate School.
He is a two-time UF alumnus: Master of Arts in Mass Communication (1996) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mass Communication (1999), both preceded by a Bachelor of Arts from Flagler College (1993).
He has served UF for nine years as a professor, student mentor, published researcher, department chair, and college graduate associate dean. He served as a member of the faculty at the University of Hawaii for 12 years and as chair of the School of Communications there from 2010 to 2013. He also served on the faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2004 to 2006.
He has published his research in many of the of the highest impact journals in the field of communication. His second book, Public Relations, is under contract with Oxford University Press for its third edition.
Associate Dean Kelleher’s approach to leadership focuses on collaborating with colleagues across disciplines and academic cultures to design and support processes that set the stage for students, faculty, and staff to do their best work in pursuit of world-class graduate education.
