At the University of Florida, graduate assistantships wed financial aid with experiential learning to enhance and expand our students’ education as they pursue master’s or doctoral degrees.
Students can be employed as teachers, researchers, or student assistants, contributing to their professional development while meeting institutional needs.

Graduate Assistants United (GAU) is the official labor union representing UF graduate student employees. GAU negotiates pay, benefits, and other employment conditions for all graduate assistants as employees of the University of Florida.
It is critical that graduate faculty and staff are aware of the collective bargaining agreement between UF and GAU to ensure compliance with university policy and to support fair and consistent treatment of graduate assistants. For more information, click these links:
