Through the Faculty Doctoral Mentoring Award (FDMA) each year, the Graduate School spotlights faculty members whose game-changing, innovative, and effective mentoring of doctoral and Master of Fine Arts students have ushered them through their final dissertation or fine arts thesis project.

Nominations for this award come from current UF graduate students, faculty members, administrators, and alumni.

The FDMA gives $3,000 each to five or so faculty members, plus $1,000 to each winner’s academic unit to support doctoral or Master of Fine Arts students.
