Associate Director

Kimone Simmons is Associate Director on the Education and Training team within the University of Florida Graduate School.

She is an alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a criminal justice minor, 2010), Mississippi State University (Master of Science in Counselor Education: Student Affairs in Higher Education, 2013), and the University of Florida (Doctor of Education, 2026).

Employed at UF in 2017, she worked as Coordinator for Living Learning Initiatives in UF Housing and Residence Life before joining the Graduate School team in 2022 as Education and Training Specialist.

Now, as Associate Director on its Education and Training team, her focus is on programming and special events that enhance graduate student retention, academic advancement, and a culture of community rooted in student-centered and student-led approaches.
