Valli Sarveswaran, PhD

Director

Valli Sarveswaran is Director of Postdoctoral Affairs, which is housed within the University of Florida Graduate School.

He is an alumnus of the University of Jaffna in Sri Lanka (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, 1991) and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, 1998).

His experience in higher education administration and postdoctoral affairs includes stints as Office of Postdoctoral Education Director at the University of Missouri-Columbia (2021-2026), College of Engineering Career Consultant at the University of Notre Dame (2020-2021), Office for Postdoctoral Affairs at the University of Notre Dame (2016-2020), and McNair Scholars Program Project Manager at Cleveland State University (2008-2016).

As UF’s Director of Postdoctoral Affairs, he leads policy and human resources coordination, supports professional and career development, and serves as primary point person for postdoctoral scholars and campus partners, with an eye toward strengthening postdoctoral programming, fellowship support, and community engagement across campus.
